STEP的試題通常會包含較為復(fù)雜的等式變換和計算，需要考生持之以恒的完成解答。

STEP三卷的難度不同：

卷一是最簡單的，它的范圍就是A-level的大綱，只是難度稍微難一些。

卷二的范圍也是A-level普通數(shù)學(xué)，但是難度比卷一高。

卷三的范圍是Further Math高等數(shù)學(xué)，難度是最大的。

STEP I, STEP II 和STEP III 的區(qū)別

STEP I 主要考察的還是A-Level 數(shù)學(xué)的內(nèi)容，具體考試內(nèi)容包括: the first contains 8 pure questions, and the second contains 2 mechanics questions and 1 probability question.

STEP II 主要考察的是A-Level 數(shù)學(xué)和AS階段的進(jìn)階數(shù)學(xué)，具體考試內(nèi)容包括：the second contains 2 mechanics questions, and the third contains 2 probability/statistics questions.

STEP III 的內(nèi)容最難，會考察整個A-Level階段的數(shù)學(xué)和進(jìn)階數(shù)學(xué)，具體內(nèi)容：the first contains 8 pure questions, the second contains 2 mechanics questions, and the third contains 2 probability/statistics questions.
