牛津大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)相關(guān)專業(yè)除了必備的學(xué)術(shù)成績和雅思托福等語言成績，還有一項(xiàng)非常重要的成績，那就是MAT入學(xué)測試。
MAT全稱The Mathematics Admissions Test，是數(shù)學(xué)能力測試，主要針對牛津大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)相關(guān)專業(yè)。MAT是由劍橋大學(xué)招生考試服務(wù)中心與牛津大學(xué)合作推出的數(shù)學(xué)系入學(xué)考試。帝國理工數(shù)學(xué)相關(guān)所有專業(yè)(除了數(shù)學(xué)和計(jì)算機(jī)聯(lián)合專業(yè)外)都要求參加MAT測試，其成績作為錄取的依據(jù)(帝國理工學(xué)院數(shù)學(xué)系也接受STEP考試，部分專業(yè)同時(shí)接受MAT與STEP考試，具體情況需要查看帝國理工相關(guān)專業(yè)的說明)。

MAT考試時(shí)間為2小時(shí)30分，共有7題，選擇5個(gè)完成;考試內(nèi)容主要是集中在Pure Math部分。試卷形式分為選擇題和解答題。其中選擇題，共10個(gè)題目，每題4分，其余大題(第2-7大題)均為解答題，每大題15分。
數(shù)學(xué)、數(shù)學(xué)和哲學(xué)、數(shù)學(xué)和統(tǒng)計(jì)專業(yè)，必須選考1-5大題;數(shù)學(xué)和計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)專業(yè)，必須選考1、2、3、5、6大題;計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)專業(yè)必須選考1、2、5、6、7大題。公式表、計(jì)算器、外語詞典都是禁止使用。
